Gayton Road Fisheries is a privately owned lifestyle business which has evolved under the guidance of Chris & Lynda Newell over a 25 year period. We have over 30 years experience in fisheries management in the Norfolk area. Gayton Road Fisheries have worked on many fisheries creating good waters for the foreseeable future and includes continued administration of some of the best waters in the West Norfolk area. These fisheries have been enhanced by the introduction of quality stock fish from Gayton Road Fisheries.
Chris has been a committee member for the Anglian region of the Institute of Fisheries Management for over 20 years.
Gayton Road Fisheries holidays
Six years ago Chris and Lynda diversified into the holiday business and this runs alongside the fisheries activities; the business has developed into a five van Camping & Caravanning Club CS with access to the fisheries on site and in 2008 we added luxury holiday lodges to the portfolio, overlooking Heron pool. The other fisheries for your use while staying with us are the Specimen Lake and Kingfisher Pond.
The site is a ten acre rural location with three fisheries, areas of grass and woodland. Halfway between two villages it is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Access can be by road, rail, or air (if you have your own light aircraft).
Once we are found a large percentage of visitors become regular clients enjoying superb accommodation and quality fishing.
This water is over 20 years old, and is a two acre lake with three islands that allow some interesting swims. Depths vary from two feet to twelve feet and the weed and lily beds make superb big fish habitats. As the name suggests, this lake contains big fish all of which are English and have grown to their sizes in this lake. Predominantly a Carp water with fish to 36 pounds, this fishery also contains Wels Catfish to well over 50 pounds, Tench over 8 pounds and other species include quality Roach, Rudd, and Bream.
This water, at just under one acre, is our fun fishery which boasts a good head of fish to approximately 15 pounds (Carp, Tench, Bream and Wels Catfish). A single island in the middle splits this lake with depths of six feet making this fishery suitable for ledgering or float-fishing.
This water is the youngest fishery on the site being created in 2011 by incorporating seven existing growing-on ponds. At 3/4 acre in size this fishery (opened in 2012) is stocked with Tench, Bream and Rudd to give great float-fishing sport for those wishing to use finesse. Depths vary from two feet to six feet with three islands which create some nice quiet bays to give a secluded feeling. Again weed-beds and lily-beds finish the ambience of the lovely little fishery.
